To Define a Hero

To Define a Hero

Forgive me for starting an ignored topic,
For Heroes have been forgotten,
And replaced by Idols,
For who wants to be a hero?
A man that gave all for his country,
A man that stands above the rest to show sacrifice,
A man that place love of country, family, and safety, above his own well being.

Heroes are outlawed in today’s age.
Heroes have been replaced by victims.
Victims are shown to have broken sob stories that only make you feel pity,
Heroes lay by the wayside and are forgotten.
Heroes are what is lacking in the world.
Heroes are what the world needs.

A hero used to be know throughout the world as a man that stood when all others kneel,
Heroes were men that shaped nations,
Heroes influenced others to act and push forward,
Heroes were the pinnacle of Mankind.
Heroes moved nations to work together.
Heroes are forgotten.

They are lost, unknown, left behind, considered useless, and broken.
What good is a hero that cannot be a hero?
When the best “heroes’ today are too busy playing victims,
Then we have lost all sense of self.
For what is the definition of a hero that considers himself above others?
A Villain.

Villain, Victim, Vice,
A tragedy has befallen us,
Heroes turned to victims,
Victims turned to villains,
A man that sets himself above others to see his own reflection,
That is his Vice,
That is what he considers sacrifice.
