Seven Stars

Seven Stars

One black hole

490 lighyears

A sacrifice

A light in the sky

Would that we knew

Many don’t consider

A sacrifice of raw power in its purest form

Light

How much light would you sacrifice to gain life?

Seven stars

Years away

About 490

One hole to be filled

A bridge burned

A covenant to keep

How much of a sacrifice is needed

Seven Stars to start

Seven Stars to worship

To bring praise they sacrifice their light

For their creator

A hole in the sky is the catalyst

There are four that are small

Followed by three that are large

Each are designed to explode

One after another

Small ones first

Though innocent and pure

It is through their sacrifice that a greater wonder is to occur

Their journey began at creation

The began knowing their death

Light journeyed around darkness

One by one

Bit by bit

Their mass collapsed and initiated the spark

Four stars extinguished

Three more a year apart exploded exactly as planned

Providing a light in the sky

For four years

Not the Sun

Or the Moon

But a light close enough to Earth

And yet far enough away to be seen

Who could have made the stars dance to the tune of a sacrifice?

One that sought the sacrifice to mean something more than a few stars.
