On the last night of winter
And the first day of spring
A pair of children laughed
Under the boughs of a great old tree.
They played and laughed
The king and queen of the forest elves
With a trickling creek nearby
The last of the melted snow
The bright sun
This was the assumed paradise.
The tree brought forth many colored flowers
Great were its limbs that could hold the fruits
This was a grand old tree
One that had been since ages past
When the world was new
And songs were made.
As the royalty played
The sun was high
And shade the tree
Did provide.
The young queen picked an apple
She passed one down to her king
This was the fruit that the ages had provided
The final dance
The last song.
Thanks was given
Once and for all
The tree did smile
And it seemed to them
That were nearby
That a Ho-Hum
Was heard.
The royalty smiled
And the world knew peace
Ever after.
