Happy Mother’s Day

Mother’s day

You taught me the lessons of how to live,

How to clean,

Though I didn’t want to.

How to cook,

Though I enjoy your cooking more.

How to work in the sun,

Though I now work in the dark.

You taught me that it is good to runaway every now and then,

Now I stay nearby.

Hey mom,

Thanks.

How to cook

Age 4, hot chocolate – NesQuik and a cup of milk, microwave for 1 minute

Age 5, to boil an egg – place pot of water on high, place egg in water, let sit in boiling water for 4 minutes, make sure to keep the handles toward inner cabinets to avoid bumping the stove and pouring water all over yourself. It burns, trust me.

Age 6, how to peel the boiled egg. Rinse in cold water, THEN peel.

Age 7, Ramen Noodles – boil water in pot, place noodles in, stir with fork, when noodles are pliable, place in two pieces of cheese and flavor pouch, enjoy.

Some recipes I picked up from watching you and over time. Spaghetti, chicken, veggies and pie, and many other concoctions.

Thanks mom.

How to clean.

All I know is that I use chemicals and wipe the surfaces till the dirt is gone. And vacuum the floors.

How to work in the sun.

A good tilled garden makes the home not hungry. The dirt betwixt the fingernails is the sign of a good provider.

How to runaway.

It is not always a bad thing to run away. Sometimes a spur vacation is needed to get away and get away from the mundane life for a bit.

Thanks mom for the lessons mentioned here and the thousands of others that went unmentioned.

Happy Mother’s day!
