Lone Wolf 6
The city lay quiet. Men, women, children, lights, cars and electric noise, all had left. Building that had been raised to glory, now ruined and crumbling. Lives lived, deaths passed, all the while the wolf stayed and watched. His forest remained untouched, his protection remained there. Though the people that had once inhabited this area left, he remained. They had left, then their city shut down without people to maintain it. The Lone Wolf remained. For his life was not bound to men, his stories were known to men, but his life existed long before man knew fire. He knew the land as well as he knew the stars. Mankind was little more that a passing phase. About the time they left, the Wolf felt the world awaken as it had not been since its creation. He felt joy at feeling his land, his sky, and his freedom come unto him. The boundary of his domain had expanded beyond the horizon and onto the next. Though his power stretched further than he had wandered before, he stayed where his power was at its greatest. With a touch of redecorating, a building or two knocked down, the Wolf’s Den was created. His howl was heard across the oceans, his domain was claimed, and his hunts were wide and far.
