To Herschal,
How delightful it is to hear from you. Your last letter queried about why the poor remain poor and the rich remain rich. I tell you this, and you should really pay attention, why the classes for some remain unchanged is due to an individual’s level of respect. As much as people respect one another, we cannot deny that the lower one’s respect is for themselves, the lower it will be for others. We cannot easily change others’ outlook for respect as they become adults, that sort of thing is easiest to manipulate in children or teenagers. The first sixteen years of a person’s life will often determine the amount or respect that they may have for one another and their community. This is the most crucial time that we can have for securing a foothold in a person’s life.
Of course such a foothold would not be possible without neglect. Neglect is without a doubt the foundation for lack of respect. Humans are silly creatures that maintain the fiction of building to everything in their lives. A solid foundation leads to proper respect and a proper outlook on life. A neglected foundation leads to instability and poor personalities. The neglected will often repeat their own neglect until it boils over and truly begins to affect those outside their reach. Those with the proper foundation are affected by the neglected. For the proper see that the see that the neglected will discard all sorts of rules and laws to get what they want. Such a beautiful picture it paints, isn’t it.
Pride meets greed, lust, sloth gluttony and envy and creates wrath. Perfect chaos within one word: disrespect.
Learn this lesson well
Sincerely, Nailbed
