I sought after you,
Long and hard,
I craved your attention,
I relished the thought of being together,
I wanted to be near you.
I heard your voice in the crowd,
I saw your face through the thousands,
I wrote you poems and stories,
I was ignored,
Or at least I assumed I was,
It pains me so,
To see you with your new beau.
I sought after you,
Many times I asked,
And many times,
Nary an answer did I receive,
I wanted to be with you,
I sought you.
Now I see,
That you did not see me,
In the same light,
That I could not measure up,
To your pedestal,
I sought after you,
But that was not enough,
For you to even see me.
