I am going to lay down a theory. Humans of today, are not humans of a hundred and twenty-five years ago.
Due to a recent interest in nuclear power plants, most notably (2019) Chernobyl, I have determined that there are no real humans left in the world. All of us are deformed and damaged. Due to mankind unlocking the atom and causing destruction on a global scale, people are suffering.
On November 8, 1895, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, became the first man to witness an x-ray. In 1896, a man named Thomas Edison purchased an Xray machine and began performing thousands of x-rays on a man called Clarence Dally. By 1900 Dally began to exhibit legions and burns. Doctors of the time, noticed cancer forming in Dally’s arms and proceeded to cut them off to stop the spread of cancer. Little did they understand the extent of Dally’s injuries. Cancer was not the only thing that happened to Dally, he had loss of hair, his eyesight was starting to go, pain from being touched as his nerves had been frayed, and eventually death in 1904. After nine years of his experimentation with x-rays, Edison gave up fearing the power that it was. He didn’t not truly understand the breath of Dally’s injuries. The x-ray act like little knives that damaged Dally’s DNA. The core of Dally’s being had been damaged, meaning that his body had forgotten how to heal itself in the proper way. So in a sense his body was creating its own cancer because it did not understand how to fix itself.
Let me fast track to 1942. J. Robert Oppenheimer, and his team were tasked to build a nuclear weapon to be used against Germany to bring about the end of World War two. By July 1945 they had finished it and in August the bomb was used against the Japanese. The nuclear bomb released more than fire and pressure. The lingering effect of radiation caused major illness and DNA mutations among the residents of the country. These mutations included what most of the science fiction writers and imagineers try to capture. However, what most of the community fails to capture is the absolute pain and misery that these noticeable mutations caused these poor people. But perhaps the worst of these are the ones that we could not see. Everyone that got hit with radiation also got hit with gamma rays and x-rays, everyone’s DNA, their blueprints, had been hit and damaged.
There have been many incidents since 1942. Many releases of radiation and all of them have been manmade.
So these are the questions that I pose. Are the sins of the father forced on the child? And, does it seem silly to try and cure cancer with radiation treatment? Maybe I am not getting my idea across correctly, but it seems that some cures are just not meant to be had. Perhaps that might be our punishment for thinking that we are gods.
