The Damnation of Society
By Zachary Furr
We have lost the battle,
We have lost our tactics,
We have given them up,
We can longer compete with our foe,
We have joined our lines with theirs,
We can longer differentiate our troops and theirs.
We have disobeyed our Leader,
We have disobeyed our Lord,
We no longer ask for forgiveness,
We no longer seek repentance,
We no longer seek life,
We wish that we could have the life we should shun,
We wish that the life in the television was ours,
We wish that the meme was our creation,
We wish that that idea was ours,
We wish that we knew that person for real,
We talk to those thousands of miles away,
We never see those we talk to,
We kill each other daily for fun,
We watch others act situations for entertainment,
We have forgotten how to read,
We have forgotten how to listen,
We have forgotten how to mentor,
We have forgotten how to have fun outside,
We have lost the battle,
And we have become content to lose it.
